
North Six Shooter - Bears Ears National Monument


North Six-Shooter is stunning desert tower located in the Bears Ears National Monument/Indian Creek area. This epic adventure promises a full day of hiking, climbing, and rappelling, as we tackle the iconic "Lightning Bolt Cracks" route. This 3-pitch route is a true desert classic, offering a mix of challenges and thrills that will leave you grinning from ear to ear. As we begin our journey, we'll hike approximately 2.5 miles to the base of the tower, winding through the scenic sedimentary landscape.
The first half of the tower presents a series of fun and challenging thin cracks with a couple small sections of offwidth climbing. The second half of the tower is the most unique and fun hancracks in the world. You'll get to experience pulling through a massive roof with tons of air beneath your feet, a move that will certainly get your adrenaline pumping.
After completing the handcrack, we'll tackle the final section of the climb – a fun chimney that requires some creative problem-solving in a very tight position. As we emerge from the chimney, we'll find ourselves on top of the North Six-Shooter tower, surrounded by breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. Once on top, take a moment to soak in the stunning views and enjoy the sense of accomplishment that comes with conquering this iconic tower.
