South Six-Shooter Tower

The hike to the base of the tower is an adventure in itself, as you ascend through multiple geologic formations. The trail begins in a sandy desert landscape, winding its way through sandstone and shale rock formations. As you climb higher, the landscape shifts dramatically, and you'll find yourself surrounded by a dry, red, and iron-rich environment that will transport you to a Martian landscape. The climb to the summit of South Six Shooter Tower is divided into 2-3 pitches, with relatively easy and introductory climbing. The first half is a gentle warm-up, while the final section involves two small spire summits, with some fun 5.8 climbing moves that will get your heart racing.
