The Black Hole
The Black Hole is located in between Lake Powell and Blanding, and is only accessible by a long and scenic drive. The journey is well worth it, as The Black Hole offers a unique and unforgettable experience that's unlike any other.
As you drop down into the canyon, you'll soon find yourself in a swimmer's paradise, with multiple sections of long and cold swims that will challenge most people. The canyon's massive watershed catchment above it ensures that it receives plenty of water during the monsoon season, making it an ideal spot for wet slot canyons.
One of the most unique and thrilling sections of The Black Hole is the narrow passage where the walls narrow down to just 3 feet wide. This section requires canyoneers to swim through winding sandstone for about 500 feet, creating an exhilarating experience that's sure to leave you breathless from the cold and the beauty. With its remote location and unpredictable water levels, it's essential to have the basic canyoneering skills to tackle this challenging adventure.
