Woody Canyon

Woody Canyon is a stunning pothole slot canyon located between Lake Powell and Hanksville, Utah. The approach to the canyon is a scenic sedimentary landscape that can be scorching hot during the summer months. However, it can be quite pleasant during the prime season.
One of the most fascinating aspects of Woody Canyon is its dramatic changeability based on water levels. Some water levels can significantly increase the required time to navigate the canyon, making it more challenging to escape the potholes. When the canyon is full, a drysuit is highly recommended as you'll be swimming for extended periods. On the other hand, when the canyon is dry, it still offers a unique and picturesque section of classic winding slot canyon.
Regardless of the water levels, Woody Canyon is a breathtaking adventure that promises an unforgettable experience. The canyon's narrow walls and winding passages create an otherworldly atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for photographers and nature enthusiasts. With its remote location and unpredictable water levels, it's essential to have the necessary skills and experience to tackle this challenging adventure.
